Jax Bookkeeper

About

A CPA who chose bookkeeping.

Jax Bookkeeper exists because small business owners deserve controller-quality books without controller-level overhead, and because the best time to get the accounting right is every month, not every April.

Founder & Licensed CPA

I'm a Florida-licensed CPA who started Jax Bookkeeper because small business owners deserve the same accuracy a corporate controller gets, without the overhead. I handle your books personally, so the person reconciling your accounts is the same person who understands how those numbers flow into your tax return.

Why only bookkeeping?

Most CPA firms treat bookkeeping as a loss leader for tax work. The books get attention in January and February, then nothing until the next year, and the client gets a bill for “adjustments” each spring. We think that's backwards. The monthly books are where a business is actually run: pricing, hiring, cash, debt. Getting them right every month is the whole job, and it deserves a firm whose only priority is doing exactly that.

So we don't prepare tax returns. We hand a clean, reconciled, documented package to your preparer every January and answer their questions directly. Our clients' returns get filed faster and cost less to prepare because the work was done right all year.

How we work

  • One accountable CPA. You know who does your books and you can reach them.
  • Your QuickBooks Online file, your data. Leave anytime and take everything with you.
  • Flat monthly pricing. Questions are included, so you'll actually ask them.
  • Read-only bank access. We can see your transactions; we can never move your money.
  • Statements by the 15th, every month, with a summary a non-accountant can read.
  • Honest scoping. If you don't need us, we'll say so.

Who we serve

Owner-operated businesses in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida with roughly $100,000 to $5 million in annual revenue: contractors and trades, restaurants and bars, real estate investors and property managers, law, medical, and consulting practices, and e-commerce and retail. Our office is in San Marco, and we work with clients across the First Coast, in person or remotely.
